Blog Notes:

~ Began with an explanation of how she got involved with PBL and how well students respond to it.
~ Has moved beyond just using text and formalized tests
~ PBL started in the medical community, has been around for a long time
~ Check out the wikispace above for more explanations
~ Students help determine their direction, are given choices (teacher provides general direction)
~ There is a lot of collaboration as well as individual grades
~ One topic… the Stimulus package compared to the Great Depression (real world events)
~ Using authentic assessments rather than formalized testing via rubrics
~ How does 21st Century Technology connect? See the bullet on the wikispace above
~ Note on Etherpad: It is real time and color codes… (check the wikispace for the rubric)

~ Note on Wikispaces: Can use for collaborate purposes professionally… can connect with other schools across the country

~ Check out all the project ideas from the wikispace
~ Note on Doors to Diplomacy – Google it… it is a governmental program
